BRAND NEW | PART-TIME NANNY / HOUSEKEEPER OPPORTUNITY | CAMBRIDGE, CB1 | UP TO £20GPH

A professional and welcoming family based in south-east Cambridge, CB1, close to Addenbrooke’s, is seeking a reliable, organised and proactive Part-Time Nanny / Housekeeper to join their household two to three set days per week, depending on the successful candidate’s availability.

This is a varied role combining general housekeeping with childcare. Whilst the nanny will occasionally supervise all three children, the majority of the day-to-day childcare will be focused on the youngest, aged 8. The family are looking for someone dependable who can take ownership of their responsibilities and become a trusted presence within the household.

The Children: The family have three children aged 14, 12 and 8 years. The eldest enjoys cooking and art and is increasingly independent, whilst the middle child has a keen interest in music and singing and attends Scouts. The youngest enjoys science, Lego and being read to. All three children are active and have a range of interests and commitments throughout the week.

The Role: Before the children return from school, the nanny will focus on keeping the home organised, with duties including general cleaning and tidying, changing the children’s beds and laundry.

The afternoons will involve school collections, homework and spending quality time with the youngest child, alongside supporting the older children with their activities when required. This may include choir collections, organ practice and other local commitments.

The family would also welcome additional availability during the school holidays where possible.

Core Duties: General housekeeping, laundry, changing children’s beds, school and activity collections, homework supervision, childcare and accompanying the children to local activities.

A driver is not required, although parking is available at the family home. The family currently use a cargo bike for some school and activity collections, and the successful candidate may use other appropriate methods of transport depending on the journey.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be organised, responsible and confident working with children of different ages. They should be happy combining practical household duties with childcare and be able to manage a busy family routine with a calm, flexible and proactive approach.

No specific childcare qualification or minimum level of experience is required, although previous experience working with children and/or within a family home would be beneficial.

The family require an Ofsted-registered nanny, or someone willing to become Ofsted registered at their expense.

Candidates should be able to provide at least two recent contactable references and hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid qualification.

A nanny who wishes to bring their own child to work will be considered.

Hours of Work: 2–3 set days per week, Tuesday to Friday, 12:00pm–7:00pm. 14–21 hours per week depending on the candidate’s preference.

Start Date: ASAP, although the family are willing to wait for the right person to work their current notice period if necessary.

Salary: Up to £20 gross per hour (£21,840 gross per annum based on 21 hours per week), depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and capable nanny/housekeeper seeking a long-term part-time position with a professional Cambridge family.
