A warm, welcoming and professional family based in Waterbeach, CB25, is seeking a kind, reliable and engaging Part-Time Nanny to care for their two young boys three afternoons per week.
This is a lovely opportunity for a nurturing and dependable nanny who enjoys becoming part of family life and providing a calm, enjoyable end to the children’s day. The family are looking for someone organised, proactive and confident supporting young children through their afternoon and evening routines, who will become a trusted presence within the household.
Children: The role involves caring for two boys aged 5 years and 1 year. The eldest attends school and the younger child attends nursery. The family are looking for someone who will provide warm, attentive care and help both boys transition happily from their day into their evening routine.
The Role: This is a live-out position focused on afternoon childcare, including school and nursery pick-ups and supporting the children through the early evening. The successful candidate will collect the boys, bring them home and provide a relaxed transition into their evening routine.
The family would particularly value somebody who is confident managing two young children together, can keep their afternoons running smoothly and is happy to take initiative with age-appropriate play and activities.
Core Duties: Responsibilities will include school and nursery pick-ups, safely transporting the children home, providing attentive care and age-appropriate play, preparing simple snacks or meals as required, helping the children wind down after their day, supporting bath time and pyjama routines, and beginning the children’s bedtime routine.
The role may also include light tidying associated with the children and helping to keep their areas organised.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be warm, dependable and naturally nurturing, with previous experience caring for young children. A minimum of one year’s childcare experience is preferred, although the family are open to candidates with relevant experience gained through babysitting or similar roles.
The successful candidate will be confident caring for children of different ages, organised and comfortable working independently, with a calm and reassuring manner.
A clean, full UK driving licence and own roadworthy vehicle are not essential for this role as Waterbeach has excellent public transport links. However, parking can be provided at the family home.
The family are happy to consider a nanny who wishes to bring their own child to work.
