BRAND NEW | PROFESSIONAL NANNY / HOUSEKEEPER OPPORTUNITY, 28.5. HRS. P/W – CAMBRIDGESHIRE

A warm, values-led, and highly organised family is seeking an exceptional nanny/housekeeper to join them on a long-term basis caring for their three young children aged 5, 3 and 1.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, engaging, and experienced nanny who genuinely loves the company of young children, thrives in a busy household, and enjoys becoming part of a close family environment. The role would suit somebody energetic, organised, and creative who enjoys planning enriching activities, spending lots of time outdoors and supporting children’s learning and early education through play based and structured, fun activities.

The family successfully follow a gentle yet structured parenting approach and place great value on kindness, consistency, emotional intelligence and regulation, and clear boundaries. They are looking for somebody aligned with these values who can confidently nurture the children while maintaining calm routines and structure throughout the day. A patient, empathetic approach to supporting young children through big feelings is especially important to the family.

The family live in a beautiful countryside home with extensive outdoor space, a dedicated indoor and outdoor playroom and Montessori and forest school-inspired activity areas. Both parents work partly from home and are hands-on, involved parents, whilst remaining respectful of the nanny’s autonomy and routine during the working day.

The role is primarily focused on the youngest child during school hours, and that child attends numerous external-led activities throughout the week (e.g. baby gymnastics, sensory/music class), with care of all three children after school and during school holidays. The nanny will be responsible for attending the external activities with the youngest child, as well as planning and implementing stimulating and educational activities tailored to the children’s interests and developmental stages, including sensory play, crafts, baking, outdoor adventures, music, imaginative play, and creative learning opportunities. The children are active, curious and love being outdoors. All three children are particularly confident in the water, and the family will soon have a fully functioning heated swimming pool within the grounds. For this reason, the successful candidate must be happy in the water and highly confident supervising young children in and around water, although given the children’s ages and for the safety for all involved, the nanny will only be expected to have a ratio of 2:1 or 1:1 during time in the pool.

Duties: Duties will include sole charge care of the children, creating engaging and educational days centred around learning through play, supporting the children’s continuous development and taking them to pre-planned classes and activities throughout the week. The role also involves helping to create a calm, organised and well-run home environment. During nap times and quieter periods, duties will include preparing healthy home-cooked vegetarian/vegan family meals a couple of times per week from a pre-planned menu and recipes, laundry and ironing, changing children’s bedding, keeping children’s play areas and bedrooms beautifully organised, rotating toys and resources, stocking children’s supplies and helping to ensure the household runs smoothly day-to-day. The family place a strong value on maintaining a calm, tidy and welcoming home and would love somebody who naturally takes pride in keeping their work environment clean and organised and would instinctively tidy up after themselves and the children throughout the day.

Candidate profile: The ideal candidate will be ultra reliable, approachable, kind and emotionally intelligent, with a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their educational and holistic development. The family are looking for somebody energetic, creative, and highly organised, with a proactive approach and a natural ability to keep things running smoothly. Experience caring for babies and young children is essential, alongside confidence working within a busy but respectful family home where parents may be present. A confident and safety-conscious driver with a full UK driving licence is required for occasional school runs and taking the children to activities. A car will be provided for work use.

The ideal candidate will hold, or be willing to obtain, a full Paediatric First Aid qualification and enhanced DBS check and be able to provide at least two recent contactable references. A good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood developmental milestones is desirable.

A formal childcare qualification is not essential; finding the right long-term fit for the family is the priority. Candidates must also have the right to work in the UK.
