This is a wonderful fixed-term opportunity for a kind, organised and proactive candidate who enjoys creating a calm, happy home environment and supporting children through engaging, age-appropriate activities. The family value warmth, trust and open communication and are looking for someone who will become a valued and trusted part of their household.
Children: The role involves caring for two happy, active and inquisitive children aged 4 and 5 years, both of whom attend school. They are full of energy, enjoy being outdoors, love imaginative play and thrive when given opportunities to explore, create and have fun. The family are looking for a nanny who will embrace their sense of adventure whilst providing a calm, nurturing and enjoyable end to each school day.
The Role: This is a sole-charge, live-out position combining light housekeeping with afternoon childcare. During the child-free hours, the successful candidate will help ensure the home runs smoothly before collecting the children from school, preparing their evening meal and supporting a relaxed and enjoyable end to the day. The family are also happy to consider applications from nannies wishing to bring along their own young child, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking greater flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
Core Duties: Responsibilities will include preparing nutritious evening meals for the children, light housekeeping including family laundry, changing bed linen and general tidying, school pick-ups, supporting reading and homework as required, organising engaging indoor and outdoor activities, and arranging fun outings and playdates during the school holidays where appropriate.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be warm, dependable and organised, with a genuine passion for supporting young children’s development. They will be confident working independently, communicate well with parents and enjoy becoming an integral part of the family’s weekly routine.
A confident driver with a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle is essential. Free parking is available at the family home.
Applicants should have a minimum of two years’ professional childcare experience caring for children of similar ages. The successful candidate must hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS Certificate, a full Paediatric First Aid qualification and be able to provide at least two recent contactable references. Candidates must also have the right to work in the UK.
Hours of Work: Monday and Tuesday, 1:00pm–5:00pm during term time (8 guaranteed hours per week), with additional hours potentially available during the school holidays.
Start Date: Flexible between 1st and 21st September 2026.
This is a fixed-term contract until March 2027.
Salary: Up to £18 gross per hour (approximately £624 gross per month), depending on experience and qualifications.
