A kind and professional family, well known to The Bee’s Knees Nannies, is seeking an experienced, reliable and nurturing Part-Time Nanny to care for their bright and happy daughter, who will be starting school in September 2026.

This is a lovely permanent opportunity for a dependable and organised nanny who enjoys supporting a family during the busiest parts of the day. The family are looking for someone who can bring warmth, calm and efficiency to their established routine, whilst working confidently and independently within a kind and respectful household.

The Role: This position is primarily focused on before and after-school care during term time, including helping the child get ready in the morning, completing school drop-offs and collections in Cambridge, and supporting her established evening and bedtime routine. Cambridge is approximately 8.5 miles from the family home.

School holiday hours are very open to negotiation, with the family keen to find a long-term arrangement that works well for both the nanny and the family. A minimum of 20 hours per week will be guaranteed year-round.

Core Duties: Responsibilities will include supporting the child’s morning routine, helping her get ready for school, preparing breakfast, getting her organised for the day, completing school drop-offs, collecting her promptly at the agreed time, serving a nutritious evening meal prepared by the family, providing warm and age-appropriate care, and supporting her established bedtime routine until a parent takes over.

The family are looking for someone who is punctual, calm, engaging and able to create a positive start and finish to the child’s day.

Days & Hours: During term time (35 weeks per year), Monday to Friday, 7:00am–9:00am and 5:00pm–7:00pm or 8:00pm, depending on candidate preference.

The family can offer up to 30 hours per week during term time, with additional housekeeping tasks included. The hours for these tasks will be mutually agreed.

During school holidays (17 weeks per year), hours are very much open to negotiation, with a minimum of 20 hours per week guaranteed year-round.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be warm, calm and naturally nurturing, with previous professional childcare experience. They should be reliable, punctual, well organised and confident supporting a young child’s routine.

A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential. Parking is provided and fuel will be reimbursed for work-related journeys.

Essential Requirements: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, be willing to use their own vehicle for work purposes, and hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Candidates must also be able to provide a minimum of two contactable employer references, hold or be willing to complete a valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate, have at least two years of professional childcare experience gained through nannying or nursery work, and be Ofsted registered or willing to become Ofsted registered at the family’s expense.

This is a live-out, permanent position, and the family are happy to consider a nanny who wishes to bring their own child to work.

Salary: £17.00–£19.00 gross per hour, depending on qualifications and previous experience, with a salary of up to £26,410 gross per annum based on 30 hours during term time and 20 hours during school holidays.
