Live-Out | One Child | Driver Essential | Up to £19.00 Gross per Hour

A kind and professional family, well known to The Bee’s Knees Nannies, is seeking an experienced, reliable and nurturing nanny to provide attentive care for their bright and happy young daughter, who will be starting school in September 2026.

This is a lovely permanent opportunity for a dependable and organised candidate who enjoys supporting a family during the busiest parts of the day and can bring calm, efficiency and warmth to an already well-established routine.

The family are looking for someone who is confident working independently, uses initiative and can provide consistent, dependable support within a kind and respectful household.

The role involves caring for:

  • One child starting school in September 2026.

The Role

This position is primarily focused on before and after school support during term time, helping the family with getting their daughter ready for the day, following her pre-established bedtime routine and managing school drop-offs and collections in Cambridge (approximately 8.5 miles from the family home).

Hours during school holiday periods are very open to negotiation. The family would like the role to work on a long-term basis for the nanny just as much as it will for them.

Typical Duties Include:

  • Supporting the child’s morning routine
  • Helping her get ready for school
  • Preparing breakfast and getting her organised for the day
  • School drop-offs
  • Collecting the child promptly from school at the agreed time
  • Serving a nutritious evening meal prepared by the family
  • Providing warm, attentive and age-appropriate care
  • Supporting the child with her pre-established bedtime routine until a parent takes over

This role would suit a candidate who is punctual, calm, engaging and able to create a positive start and finish to the child’s day.

Days & Hours

Term Time (35 weeks per year)

Monday to Friday:

  • 7.00am – 9.00am
  • 5.00pm – 7.00pm

Please note that on some days, hours may be adjusted to 4.00pm – 6.00pm.

Guaranteed 20 hours per week.

School Holidays (17 weeks per year)

Hours are very much open to negotiation, however the family are happy to guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week year-round.

The Ideal Candidate

The family would love to find a candidate who is:

  • A safe and confident driver (parking provided)

Essential Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Be willing to use their own vehicle for work purposes (fuel reimbursed)
  • Live in the UK and have the right to work here
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Be able to provide a minimum of two contactable employer references
  • Hold, or be willing to complete, a valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Have at least two years of professional childcare experience (nannying or nursery work)
  • Be Ofsted registered or willing to become Ofsted registered at the family’s expense

Salary

£17.00 – £19.00 gross per hour, depending on qualifications and previous experience.

Up to £19,760 gross per annum based on 20 hours per week, plus overtime payments for any additional hours worked during school holiday periods.

HOW TO APPLY

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years previous professional experience of caring for children of a similar ages.

A formal childcare qualification is not essential for this position; it is more important that the Nanny is a good match personality wise.
